While Hestia is the goddess of peace, her task is to keep the other Olympians in control. She is also the patron of marriage, and provides special care to married women. She was a pious woman, but she had several affairs with her brother's husband Zeus. She had children both with mortals and nymphs including Triton and Theseus.
