This is the model you need to pick if you are looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It is smaller than other models which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners or under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides one of my top navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It's very fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one motion. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to clean dirt hair, pet hair, and droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, isn't as impressive. The rotating mop spins at a high velocity and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a little more than other robots. This is useful in difficult corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger objects like books and broken toys.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't create the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to set up and performs well. However should you purchase this vacuum solely to mop it is important to be aware of this.

The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair of pets. It was able to capture many of the hair our cats shed, and even got into some of the nooks and crannies on our stairs, where other robots had struggled. It was fairly quiet and had some nice jingles that indicated when it was about to start or finishing its work.

Its main drawbacks were its simple app and the requirement to switch out the modules whenever switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app doesn't have the capacity to hold multiple maps, which could be a pain for homes with a mix of floors. The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it does have some unique features which make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's main draw is its huge dock which doubles as the robot's charging base and the housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base also comes with a set of buttons to control the system. These let you manually start a cleaning job or recall the robot cleaner with mop or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a great feature for parents worried about their kids messing around with the autonomous vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as a power cord draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't come with an "stuck" status alert in its application.

Another possible issue is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad however, the mopping pad isn't washed or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.

On the bright side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome appearance in a market that is dominated by bulky, boxy units.
