The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should pick if you are looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other options on this list making it easier to navigate into tight corners and underneath furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.

It's extremely fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single sweep. Its 8,000pa motor is able to pick up dirt as well as pet hair and poop effortlessly. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help draw out debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as effective. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and stains. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to set up and performs well. However when you purchase this robot vacuum to mop, you will need to pay attention to this.

The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair of pets. It was able capture some of the hair shed by our cats, and even got into some of the nooks and crannies on our stairs where other robots struggled. It was fairly silent and also had a few pleasant jingles that signalled when it was about to start or finished its work.

Its main drawbacks were its simplistic app and the need to swap out the modules whenever switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app is not able to save multiple maps. This could be an issue if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want a smart robot that can perform both mopping and vacuuming.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot automatic vacuum and mop is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have some unique features which are worth a look. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its enormous dock that serves as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink and a 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control, which allow you to manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot, or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to switch on a child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will stay clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise at recognising objects.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as the power cord that is draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. This was a rare occurrence however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert on its app.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad, except that the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a major departure from the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing sight in a space that is dominated by bulky boxy models.
