Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade items (you can look here), players must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Typically items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while items with strong bases such as eth titans do not vary in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute benefit, or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found as loot gathered by enemies or obtained from missions and chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

In order to upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the user must select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade stats will be and also the component or material needed to complete the upgrade.

There are three types of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type limitation. Infusions, which can only be placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but provide larger bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding the word Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades to gather tools, if a player replaces one glyph with another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, excluding inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important changes from the previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost for upgrades is increased with each level however the materials required aren't as high. This allows players to focus their efforts on a select few items and maximize the effect of those items, instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

If an item is finished being leveled, it will be capable of receiving an upgrade set of components, as well as a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

After a piece has been upgraded to its highest level, it is able to get an affix to increase its capabilitiest to your build more often than other. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This was changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for all stats. This could be a positive or a bad thing, depending on your needs and wants from your equipment.

Each upgraded item could come with a unique fixed-value bonus that boosts its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to the normal affixes. The more you improve an item, the greater your chance of getting the bonus of your choice.

The game also includes a number of sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on a unit. This is a good method to give an individual character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the initial stages. This is because rerolling can give players a faster path to a powerful character, allowing them to reach higher levels and progress in the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up in different ways. They can have different sizes, contain no elements at all or contain just one element. They can be used to organize data or sorting information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways, including size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides a wide range of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Armor sets that provide the highest defense value or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in improving stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade when your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already huge.

Certain set items are upgraded for their own special functions which can be useful in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items up to par with the levels. For example the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

To see if an item upgrade is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button in the screen for their character. This will display the item's features, as well as the items needed to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternately, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements for specific items.

In general, weapons and armor have a higher trade value when they are fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will bring about a significant improvement in their stats. It will also boost the defense value of armor that has an updated appearance.
