A good robot vacuum cleaner can make a significant difference in reducing allergens like dust and pet hair. Not all models are identical.

There are a myriad of options available for you to choose from, whether you need a vacuum that is pet-specific or a robot that can complement your other cleaner.

1. Eufy RoboVac G30 Edge

The G30 Edge, the latest model in Eufy’s budget series of robotic vacuum cleaners, is the most recent model. The G30 Edge is a shiny black vacuum cleaner, with pink and blue accents. It does a great job of removing pet hair and crumbs from hard floors, but it falls behind the top models when it comes to scooping up flour on carpet. In our tests, the G30 Edge missed 74% of the flour on hard floors and 26 percent on carpet This isn't great, but it's not a complete disaster.

A feature that makes the G30 Edge stand out is the ability to map your home with a digital map in the app. This lets it remember the rooms it has cleaned, and to avoid returning to them. This is a major issue for the more basic robots that require the old-fashioned magnetic taps to define no go zones.

The G30 Edge has other conveniences that include a "Find My Robot" mode that blasts out an audible music until it's located and a directional pad that allows users to manually move the robot. It also comes with an auto return function that can send it back to its charging base if the battery is low which is a crucial security feature.

2. Neato Botvac D-Shape

The Neato Botvac D shape robot is a robust machine that comes with a wide array of smart features. It is able to clean floors well, and can also climb on high-pile carpet fairly easily. The app also comes with advanced features such as boundary lines, remote control access while the robot is operating and a myriad of other options.

This model is the most recent in a long series of robots from Neato and is distinguished by its unique "D" shape when viewed from above. The design offers a number of advantages, such as improved corner cleaning and a bigger bin of dust than most other models. The D-shape also allows the Deenkee Robot Vacuum: Powerful Quiet WiFi-Enabled Cleaning to reach under furniture better than those with a circular design.

However it's not as powerful much power as our top choices.

The Roborock S4 Max, however is more durable, recharges much faster than the Shark and comes with a wider variety of automation features and scheduling options, including support for "no-go zones". Its side brush scatters large cereal particles that stick to the floor instead of vacuuming. It also had difficulty collecting table salt on a floor that was not paved, as a lot of grains were slid across the floor.

It supports voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant through an external device (sold separately). It identifies your cleaning habits and provides you with a personalized schedule. Cliff Detect and a edge-sweeping tool will ensure that it can get into hard-to-reach places, while Dirt Detect sensors alert the robot to areas that are soiled heavily. Its battery can last for around 60 minutes and comes with a self-emptying dustbin. The pricier iRobot Roomba j7: Smart Mapping Vacuum Cleaner j7 has a more sophisticated set of features and is more stable on all surfaces. It also feels better constructed and has a bigger dustbin it charges faster and navigates obstacles like electrical cords with ease.
