The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This wet/dry model comes with the upgraded AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system from Ecovacs, which provides enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. The system uses dual-laser LiDAR -- similar to what you'll find in self-driving vehicles and is able to scan up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. That translates into more precise mapping, faster response times, and better cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with a rotating mopping mat constructed of chenille, making it much easier to scrub hard spots than traditional mop. During my testing, the X2 Omni took just over one minute to clean its pad and begin work. I also noticed that it was much more accurate than other models that seemed to follow a grid path around rooms. It was able to navigate the corners and edges of my rooms and also make "Zambani patterns" up and down the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station regularly to empty the trash bin and clean the mop using hot water prior to beginning another cleaning job.

Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is easy to set up and begin using. Snap the dock into position connect it to the power outlet and connect it to your WiFi network at home. It only takes some minutes. You can then open the app to start your first cleaning project. I was able to customize my floor plan in less than 15 minutes. This included creating restricted areas for mopping and sweeping and rearranging the layout of furniture that is mounted on walls and more. The X2 Omni impressed me during my tests. It scored high in the areas of pet hair removal as well as debris removal. It also was near-perfect in its results for edge and crevices cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

If you need a powerful combination of mopping and vacuuming then check out the ECOVACS Deebot T10 Omni. It is the most advanced model of the brand's T-line and features the latest OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that utilizes dual-spinning brushes to provide better cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbing. It also comes with YIKO built-in, a unique natural language processing technology that allows it to respond to a variety of voice commands. The ECOVACS App allows you to plan your home, make cleaning schedules, and alter settings.

The biggest con with the T10 Omni is that it's unable to switch between mopping and vacuuming in a single run. Both modes require that you attach and remove mop heads according to the need and is suitable for most homes but not a good fit es and chairs.

Its mapping system allows you to define no-mop areas as well as specific cleaning zones. However it is prone to get into things (including its own charging dock) and isn't always adept at climbing over rugs. It was good at picking up pet hair from the floor. In our tests it picked up 89.5% kitty litter.

Although it's controlled through the app it's also controllable via the app. X8 Hybrid also comes with physical buttons on its base, which let you select a cleaning mode and turn the robot off and on. Additionally, you can use these to set no-go zones and see maps in real-time. It's also a bit chatty and will let you know what it's planning to do next (start cleaning) or warn you when something isn't right.

4. ILIFE A4s

This high-tech model sucks up pet hair, kibble, and other debris with top-notch effectiveness and effortlessly moves around furniture legs. It also has an impressive feature set that includes two cleaning modes, a self-emptying dock, and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. It is Wi-Fi-enabled and is best controlled through the Neato app where cleaning can be scheduled and the overall maintenance needs be monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for homes that have a a mix of hard carpet and floors, but it requires some advance planning to avoid getting stuck on toys, power cords or other obstacles that might be unexpected.

In our test of hardwood floors and kibble the robot performed very well and was able to pick up everything from a single grain of rice to several pieces of dog food in one pass. It had some trouble transitioning to rugs, but in general this vacuum cleaner is ideal for large rooms with flooring of all kinds and a mix of pets.

The A4s Pro is a bit expensive but it's an excellent purchase for those who want to be able to leave the house without hands so that they can do other things or perform household chores. The A4s Pro also offers a convenient auto cleaning mode that boosts suction power to tackle difficult spills and dirt, and includes a battery-powered ElectroWall that allows you to set boundaries that the robot isn't allowed to be allowed to enter.

This budget-friendly robot from a renowned new brand is the cheapest we've tested and provides an outstanding value for the money. The basic navigation system employs an extremely basic random pathing algorithm and lacks room mapping capabilities, making it less time efficient than the other models on this list. However, it's still able to navigate under furniture and into corners and its mopping feature was very effective in our testing and was able to pick up pet hair and other debris easily.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ isn't quite as robust as the Roomba S9, but it is superior in general at getting rid of pet hair from all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning low-pile carpet and bare floors. It also utilizes intelligent-pathing navigational software to improve maneuverability. It also lets you send it to a specific area, and its advanced suite of automation features include no-go zones as well as scheduling. It also lets you pause and resume the cleaning process, so it's perfect for households with pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll helps prevent knots from pet hair and other debris and its self-emptying dock station can store up to 30 days of dirt before needing to be emptied. It also comes with a set of angled side brushes that go deep into corners, and its multi-stage filter system is able to capture dust, dander and allergens to ensure a healthier air.

The iQ robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It works with an app on your smartphone which lets you alter the settings of your vacuum and schedule cleaning times ahead of time. The app lets you view the remaining battery life of the iQ, and send push notifications if it encounters any issues during a cleaning session. You can control it using your voice with an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't own either of these devices, you can mark areas with physical boundary lines.

The iQ is good for cleaning floors that aren't clean, and does well on carpets that are sagging and low-pile. However it doesn't provide the same level of autonomy as our top choices. It is also expensive and its monthly costs can be quite costly.
