Best iRobot Vacuums

This entry-level iRobot is a great option for those who wish to stay clear of the cost of a higher-end model. It features impressive navigation and obstacles-avoidance technologies and provides app and voice control along with scheduled cleanings.

The vacuuming performance of the machine was excellent, removing 55% of the debris that was accumulated during our tests. Its mopping was able to remove dried milk stains.

1. Roomba S9+

After spending a month testing robot vacuums, I believe the Roomba s9+ is the ideal choice for most homes. Its unique D shape lets it be close to corners and walls to provide an even better cleaning. Its powerful motor is superior at removing pet hair than other robots I've tested. The s9+ comes with advanced features, such as Dirt Detection and the ability to choose which cleaning time to use the iRobot Home App.

iRobot's vSLAM navigational system, which it developed from research designed to help landmine detectors find mines, is an impressive achievement. It scans the room at 25 times per second, and creates an accurate map of your room which assists Baby Rocky avoid getting snagged in piles of clutter. Furthermore the model this year comes with PerfectEdge technology that lets the s9+ adhere to edges that are difficult to reach, like the slim edges on my Ikea-renovated kitchen cabinets.

The s9+ isn't inexpensive, but I think it's the most WiFI-enabled robotic vacuum I’ve ever used. The iRobot Home App, smart mapping and self-emptying base make it easy to plan the cleaning. It's also easy to install and maintain, and it feels well-constructed.

While I'm not as sold on the s9+'s'smart dirt sensor' (it's meant to identify areas with high concentrations of debris and concentrate its cleaning power on those areas) or its 'quiet mode' (which seems more like it's switched off rather than on), its overall performance is unsurpassed by any other robot vacuum that I've used. It's also a bit more effective in removing pet hair and cat litter than the more expensive ONSON GOOVI F007 model which is, in my opinion, its closest competitor.

2. Roomba j7+

The Roomba J7+ is a robot vacuum that comes with wet mopping capability. The j7+ uses advanced technology to avoid obstacles and clean your floors without snagging a spot. This new feature lets the robot avoid obstacles such as pet poop and other objects that might cause the robot to break or get stuck. This is a significant improvement over previous models that were able to dodge obstacles by luck or with the help of a map that was programmed by the user.

The j7+ is programmed to create its own smart map of your home's surroundings by sending it on a mapping mission via the app. The j7+ will be able to automatically navigate to the location of the map it has created for future cleaning tasks. You can modify the map and label rooms, as well as establish cleaning zones to customize the navigation options for the j7+. The i3 EVO does an impressive job at cleaning bare floors and tackling smaller particles like rice and heavier material such as cereal in one step. It struggles a bit with pet hair and other fine particles on floors that aren't cleaned, however, and requires multiple passes to completely clear them. This is not uncommon for robovacs without special suction system for pet hair.

If the i3 EVO's internal dustbin is full, it automatically emptys into the docking station's exterior dirt compartment and continues to clean. If its battery is depleted, it will also return to the docking station and begin charging. This feature helps keep your hands free of germs, and the i3 EVO's performance from getting worse as dust accumulates.

4. Braava Jet M6

The Braava Jet is a robotic mopping device designed to make cleaning floors easier. It's quite a bit different from iRobot's previous Braava models and comes with a larger water tank that is positioned beneath its spiffy-looking new lid. In contrast to other 2-in-1 hybrids it actually mops your floors using a sanitary cleaning solution instead of just vacuuming up dirt and putting it on the floor. It also comes with an adjustable spray that enables you to choose the area you want to clean and also a smart recharge and resume function.

It's simple to use and setup. Simply plug it into the outlet, download the iRobot App, and follow the instructions. It is also compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant. You can ask it to begin cleaning or check its status.
