World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will be able to gain an additional 3% of the previous damage every time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost increases as the item level rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item upgrades must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for examplethe "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using standard methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher tier version of the item will be revealed in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of how much they'll increase after a future reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a significant chance that the item could become obsolete or even break if it fails. A failure to upgrade can cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also give an additional bonus when they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast aots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids, for example, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to boost the stats of specific items by inserting upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires a different number of components to reach and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, Upgrade Items or on the upgrade tab in crafting tables. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields several Technology Points. These points can be used to leveling up an item level upgrade. When enough points have been earned, you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When a player improves the equipment they have it is replaced by a new item. The same armor will be upgraded to a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback because it can cause the item to become more expensive if you don't need it.

If the player has enough tokens they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced by a brand new one that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This is a good idea, but should not be repeated often since it can be a waste of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times to increase their value, giving players the ability to alter their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives an increase in power if the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. This item can be upgraded several times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is highly useful in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of a non-upgraded version.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items (Look At This) allows players to upgrade the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the player to purchase more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item isn't upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase it will be applied before any attack damage increases. Slots is a brand new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs that are listed above.
