World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For item upgrading example a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will take on 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor to provide them with a boost in stats or an extra effect. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment, as well as some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Item upgrading Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade item could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment to the upgrade (for examplethe "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using less Upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level using standard methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by buying them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

The player is able to have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their equipment even when they're not sure how much it can be improved upon a reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it is likely that the item will become obsolete or even break in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the chance of failure, as well as some upgrades ll either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Using a Glyph can boost all nodes that are linked to it, and you should try to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to improve the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is leveled up.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item upgrader is replaced with a different item of the same kind. The same armor will receive the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This could be a problem because it can make the item more expensive if you do not require it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough tokens in order to do this. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This can be useful however it should not be repeated often since it can be a waste of resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or does not swim as dolphins). The item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as the Best item upgrader version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the item, and upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Every when you upgrade an item, it has an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will result in the item reverting to its initial condition, which requires the user to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item fails to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained like crit chance attack damage, additional effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or the speed of reloading). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item definition and the value is computed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item may have five upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For instance they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. The player will need to take each piece of gear they wish to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade will require the use of different upgrade ingredients.
