World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will increase an additional 3% of the previous damage every time it is upgraded.

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before a component can be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's applied to (for item upgrades example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item upgrader kit's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop or obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear even when they're not sure what can be improved upon an update.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it is likely that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate the chances of failure, and some upgrades that offer the benefit of being reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in the area around them as well as existing affixes onlows players to improve the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of an item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item is replaced with a different item of the same type. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item upgrade comes with its own set bonus. This can be a disadvantage in that it could make the item more expensive, even if you don't need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can use up many resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allowing the player to customize their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or is able to swim like dolphins). It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the max roll by a factor of 10. This item can be very valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their available gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of that piece, Item upgrades while upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

Each item upgrades can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original condition which means that the player has to spend additional materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item is not upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained, such as chances to be crit attack damage, additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time or reloading speed). However, the player may still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand-new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is recalculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its base value. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than regular gear. For example they might require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require a different amount of the ingredients needed to upgrade.
