But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. This fridge is expensive, so I expected better.

Aside from that blip the fridge is a fantastic choice. It has a large freezer compartment, which is quite uncommon in counter-depth French door refrigerators. Additionally, it holds a fair amount of frozen food as compared to similar models.

The drawers are simple to open and close however I found the textured plastic coatings a bit hard on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes all the features you would expect from a refrigerator in this price range. It has Wi-Fi, app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices can let you control your fridge from anywhere in world, and it has numerous options for customization. It also sends you notifications when doors are left open, when your fridge or freezer needs defrosting and when it's time to change the filter.

It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill, an option available in other GE refrigerators that allows you to set the number of cups of water you'd like to pour out at a time. It does have a countdown feature on the fridge's display to display how much water have left, but it's not as useful as Precise fill.

The freezer is designed with thoughtful elements, too, like sliding drawers to help you better organize the placement of your items. It comes with a large bin for storing frozen food, and a separate one for ice.

Another cool feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It lets you control the fridge's temperature, lighting, and more using your smartphone. It's a simple way to monitor your refrigerator and manage it, especially when you're not at home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat, but it doesn't necessarily enhance the efficiency of the fridge. The refrigerator took longer to defrost food and chill it than other models we tried. This could be due to the larger capacity.

The other issue we have with the doors of this refrigerator. They have sunken handles at the front, which allows shorter people to easily open them from the bottom, but they're difficult for taller people to pull closed without slamming them. It would have been much better if they had front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a excellent option for those looking to combine the benefits of a fridge with a French door with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is above average for counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also less expensive than the most expensive counter depth refrigerator with an ice maker, making it an attractive choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good choice for those looking for a French-door refrigerator that doesn't cost a lot of budget. It has a simple design that isn't as visually striking as other models however it comes with enough features to make it a good choice. Its most significant feature, the temperature adjustable drawer, helps to keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a large ice maker and a water dispenser.

Another great feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits over the two crisper bins. This drawer lets you redirect the majority of the refrigerator's cooling power into this area, so that you can store foods which need extra attention. You can adjust this feature by using a slider that's located right on the outside of the drawer. It is also possible to use this to set a general cooling setting for the entire fridge, but I've noticed that adjusting the general settings tends produce better results than specific ones.

In my experiments, I noticed that the temperatures in the refrigerator were fairly consistent in different parts of the fridge. The temperatures in the middle, top and bottom of the refrigerator didn't vary significantly from 38 degrees. This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. The fridge can be linked with a smart thermostat to gain more precise information on the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is constructed of stainless steel with a grey-bodied body which has a "smudge-proof" finish. It does a great job of removing streaks and fingerprints, even compared to glossier stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
