Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our tests on floors that are bare and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. However, they have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and can work when you're at work or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. If you're required to clean the mopping pad, it can be replaced with an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also features a powerful suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, as well as washes and drys the mop pads.
