Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new affixes. They can also increase its base stats or add additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Usually items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas items with strong bases like eth titans do not vary in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus or an additional benefit, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or received from chests or missions. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the user must select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade stats will be, as well as the necessary material or component needed to make that happen.

There are three types of universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type limitation. Infusions are gems that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same benefits as jewels, but they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, include their name at the end of the name of the item upgrade they are attached to, for instance adding a Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with a different one, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in some key ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before being "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, but the materials required for upgrades do not. This lets players focus their efforts on a handful of important items to maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

If an item is finished being leveled, it will be capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, and a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to be given affixes that enhance its capabilities. The amount of affixes available is determined by the item's type. For example an omparable item. Recyclable items come with an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.

In the past, some upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats to your build more frequently than others. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for every stat. This could be good or bad, depending on what you want and need from your equipment.

Each upgraded item could have a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are rolled over the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher your chance of getting an exclusive bonus.

The game also includes a number of sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on a unit. This is a great way to give the character more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players choose to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. This is because rerolling could offer a quicker path to a powerful character and allows them to climb high tiers and progress the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be organized differently. They can have various sizes, have no elements at all or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or separating information. They are also useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including size and shape.

There are a variety of set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, others aren't. Armor sets with high defense values or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often don't improve the item's stats much as compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already huge.

Set items can be upgraded to include unique tools that are suitable for certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items up to the level of the tiers. For instance, the Immortal King set has a large level range, from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items can increase their defense and improve their performance in terms of damage.

To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on their screen of their character. The item's attributes will be displayed as well as any necessary items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternatively, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the requirements for upgrading specific items.

In general, weapons and jewelry offer better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will give a substantial increase in their performance. The armor that has a new appearance will also benefit from this because its defense will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
