Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was an attempt to return to the classic sextet structure, and a more consistent, stronger effort with a harder edge. Its more punk-rock sound was a reflection of the maturation of the group and included drummer Bobby Kimball's increased virtuosity on drums, and an improved, mature vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's work was more refined, sharper, and less derivative than earlier recordings.

After touring to promote their album, the group recorded their Amsterdam live concert that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between. The group released a new studio album a few months later and embarked on a world tour to support the album.
